The size corresponds to body height — a 160 cm gi is for someone around 160 cm tall. The measurements below are in centimetres and taken with the gi laid flat; they are not body measurements. The widths (M, E, H, I) are therefore half the circumference: 53 cm across the chest means a circumference of roughly 106 cm. Points A, B, C, D and M are measured on the jacket, E, F, H, I and K on the trousers. Allow for a manufacturing tolerance of ±1.5–2 cm; if you are between two sizes, we recommend the larger one.

Katsudo Kata Competition Kimono is a premium karate kimono designed for kata, engineered for maximum technical precision, stance stability and a striking visual presence in competitions. Thanks to the KATA cut it provides firmness, the proper material weight and clean lines of movement that are key when performing kata.

A higher weight of 14 OZ combined with 100% cotton ensures the characteristic “snap effect” in techniques, excellent shape retention and a professional appearance during training and competitions. This karate gi for kata is designed to emphasize the dynamics of movement while also providing sufficient comfort for prolonged wear.

The kimono is suitable for competitive kata karate, advanced karate practitioners and young athletes preparing for tournaments who are looking for a high-quality competition karate kimono with an emphasis on functionality, tradition and aesthetics.

Suitable for:

kata karate
competitive and advanced training
tournaments and kata presentation
juniors and advanced karate practitioners

Technical specifications:

Type: karate kimono (gi)
Cut: KATA cut
Weight: 14 OZ
Material: 100% cotton

This kimono is made of 100% cotton, so it may shrink by roughly 3% after the first wash. Wash it in cold water and do not tumble dry to keep shrinkage to a minimum.
